This piece is honoring the divine and universal mother, Durga Ma, and the expression of the union of divine masculine and feminine. In Hindu tradition, Durga Ma's vehicle is shown as a Lion. She traditonally carries objects in her hands representing different aspects and wishes. The Sword is to cut through any illusion, the butterflies to symbolize transformation, the lotus blooming to indicate the growth that the world is currently experiencing, and lastly the conch as a call to action. This painting is especially for all Mothers and and their strength in all stages.
